Home to our family adventures growing and crafting beautiful wine and cider.

Elephant Island Winery launched from the farm in 1999 and Naramata Cider Co in 2017. Together these projects embody our family’s commitment to maintaining a healthy diversity in the agricultural landscape of our little corner of the world. All of our wines and ciders are made with low intervention, living fermentation techniques. What fruit we don’t grow ourselves is grown by farmers whose methods we respect, and who’s long term commitment to the craft is something we admire.

As much as these guys kinda freak us out, we love seeing them in on our farms.

Mya and Alex came across this baby rattlesnake on our Nuttal Rd vineyard.

Biodiversity on our farms is a key part of our sustainability mandate.

Did you know:
🐍 Snakes are natural predators, and reduce the need for chemical pesticides;
🐍 our Papa Ray purposely created a snake habitat to encourage resident snake populations on the Nuttal property
🐍 rattlesnakes don't lay eggs, they birth live snakes, so we are keeping our eyes peeled for the rest of the family, although they generally don't hang out together unless they are denning up for winter
