STELLAPORT (NV) - 2008 BLEND RELEASED

Finally available, the 2008 release of Elephant Island's signature Stellaport.

Worth the long wait (harvest + crush of the Stellas must be complete to top up the solera), in our first 1/2 case we're finding all of those consistently lovely notes of chocolate + caramel with perhaps a little more bright cherry fruit mid-palate. Maybe the result of the wonderful quality of the cherries in the 2008 vintage ... not sure, but it's delicous!

And of course, the bottle is pretty entertaining too. Wrapped in headlines from the 7 years the wine has rested in the barrel has conversation branching in all sorts of fun + funky directions (of course the Stellaport is a great conversation lubricant as well)...
