Time. It’s a weird and wonderful concept. And it’s big. So big, it is the undercurrent guiding not just our day-to-day but the whole concept of a lifetime. Big moments happen as time passes. It’s important to celebrate them.

An Elephant Island institution, (super) Bea Suremann recently hung up her keys to the farm. Bea was our first full-time employee. Her role grew from tasting room educator and jill of all trades to our right brain, running our office and bookkeeping with Swiss precision and Bea positivity. Most importantly she and Ralph grew to be friends.

When we reflected 20 years of moments we shared with Bea, we knew we needed to have a celebration. And we are so glad we did. Acknowledging these milestones in life slows time down. So, under the golden light of Naramata at dusk, and with beautiful wine, a steaming pan of paella and many friends we raised our glasses to Bea. To laughter and tears and time well spent together.
