It’s hard to ignore at times – life is fleeting.

Recently, a podcast led me down a thoughtful path inspired by designer and educator Debbie Millman. She shared an exercise that asks a deceptively simple question: What will your life feel, look, smell, and taste like ten years from now?

Ten years.
I did the math and realized I’ll be 62.

It turns out this is a surprisingly difficult exercise. But the more quiet space I gave it – walking Chewee, folding laundry, driving Old Main Rd – the clearer the answers became. Not in grand gestures, but in small, repeatable moments. What I nourish myself with. What I gather around. What I choose to say yes to, again and again.

Remarkable lives aren’t built in a day.
They’re built in moments that quietly stack.

This reflection reminded me how intentional the things we surround ourselves with can be … the places, the people, the rituals, the food, the conversations, and yes… sometimes the glass in our hand.

Being part of those moments is what motivates us at Elephant Island to create something real, delicious, and reflective of our little corner of the earth.

In my world often, those moments are as simple as what we pour at the end of the day, the meal we make or who is around our table. An Intentional Table.

Here’s to choosing the moments that stack into something remarkable.
