“Canada is a land of contrasts and of abundance, and it is the land that binds us together.” – Pierre Burton

It could be the existential crisis around the word tariff, or it could be the time of year, but we’ve been on the hunt for Canadian comfort – big time.

The great news … there is lots of it. And no, we haven’t taken to drinking Rye on the daily.

We had embarked on a plan to build relationships with like-minded Canadian growers and makers, well before the threat of tariffs or occupation began to be bantered around. In that process, we have found amazing Canadian products and stories.

My goal in the next year is to share links to these great Canadians and recipes that marry Elephant Island wines and Naramata Cider Co ciders, to their amazing products … and stories.

So watch (and cook, eat and drink) on! And if you have any contacts with great Canadian-grown producers, please send them along.

From food to fork, drink to glass – go Canada🍁

Crusty Artisan Bread

Freshly baked crusty bread with a golden, crisp crust, paired with a glass of Elephant Island Reserve Chardonnay

This recipe features our friend Nicole from Nichol Vineyard, who has perfected the simplest (and most delicious) crusty bread recipe.

We partnered with Engrained Flour, a small batch Manitoba grower and producer of Stone Milled flour that is grown and produced on the Rauper Family farm in southwest Manitoba. The Crusty Bread is delish with Elephant Island’s Reserve Chardonnay or Nichol Syrah. Unfortunately, we can’t package these peices and send them to you together, but check-out the links below to acquire from the individual producers, or ask your local stockists to bring them in!
